Back from the future
Help me out here, but am I the only one that does not appreciate DJ Tsuyoshi's return to the past?
After an exciting start with Return to the Source and Prana and a long and eventful career with Joujouka in dancefloors and fashion-shows worldwide, Tsuyoshi's return to day one is another peculiar move from one of the godfathers of modern psychedelia.
Understandably, the road for the Japanese trance pioneer has not been an easy one since he broke off the psytrance scene in exploration of new sounds and forms.
With all respect due, the latest psy offering from Feedback recordings, Far East Psytrance League 2005, only goes to show that you shouldn't always listen to feedback.
From the noble path of limitless sonic exploration to the latest retro Tsuyoshi track Like P... his music is sitting miles apart. Stone heavy kick and full on guitar riffs that will remind you the early days of Delta vs G.M.S, remixed by Oforia and Tim Schouldt.
There is so much innovation in this track as there is sugar in a lemon.
Acid and sour!

Sasha China Tour
After last year's success in Beijing, Shangai and Guangzhou, DJ Sasha is back in Beijing on his worldwide tour promoting his latest CD Involver.
This year's tour will see the prince of progressive house drop tunes in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Guangzhou from November 4 to 17.
A renowned DJ and production figure in trance and progressive circles, Sasha, from North Wales, became famous in the early 90s for residencies at clubs like Shelly's and the Hacienda. At Renaissance he formed a DJ partnership with John Digweed, which continues to the present day.
For his Beijing appearance, Sasha will take to the decks of Banana on November 5. There will be an open bar all night for all ticket holders.

Paul Van Who?
Just kidding.
The results for DJ Mag's 2005 Top 100 DJ's are out. A staggering 123,933 dance music fans voted in DJmag's 2005 Top 100 DJs poll. That's 33,000 more than last year and a true indication that dance music is still a massive global phenomenon.
The truly global reach of DJ culture was once again highlighted with votes coming in from 147 different countries. The USA provided the most votes in 2005, closely followed by the UK, and then Germany.
Trance DJs continued to dominate the higher positions in the Top 10. However the big news is that Paul van Dyk took the crown from Tiesto to take the No.1 position, after the Dutch superstar's three years at the top spot. It's the first time the German trance DJ has been voted No.1 in his career and comes on top of his release earlier this year of Politics of Dancing 2.
This year the progressive house DJ's lead with John Digweed and Deep Dish by jumping two places to No.6 and No.8 respectively. Hernan Cattaneo went to No.7, DJ Vibe rocketed up 40 places and Desyn Masiello, Luke Fair, Martin Garcia, Moshic, Chus & Ceballos and Christian Cambas all made it into the Top 100 for the first time. Interestingly though, all of the Global Underground Nubreed DJs: Danny Howells, Steve Lawler, Lee Burridge and Satoshi Tomiie took falls. Good news for the prog house jocks there no sign of our favourite progressive trance maisters though.
